Maryland Counts Day
The America Counts program places University of Maryland students in 7 Prince George’s County elementary schools to work with fourth graders on sharpening math and problem-solving skills. On Maryland Counts Day, all the children that participate in the program will come to campus for the day to celebrate their accomplishments, engage in a variety of math activities, interact with college students, and experience a college campus. We will need 200-300 volunteers to make this event happen – check back soon for details about how to get involved in Maryland Counts Day 2010!
If you are a campus department or student group interested in hosting a “rotation station” for Maryland Counts Day this year, which would involve facilitating some sort of hands-on math activity with 4th graders, please contact us!
