Come to AR*AC’s first annual Kickoff – come for food, fun, games, prizes, and a chance to meet and hang out with your fellow mentors!
Date: Friday, October 2nd, 3-5:30 p.m. (location TBA)

NEW America Reads Mentors

As a NEW Mentor there are THREE mandatory things you MUST do.

  • Attend a New Mentor Orientation: Choose ONE of the following dates to attend

Thursday, September 3rd,  Pyon Su room in the Stamp
Federal Work Study Employees: 4-7:30p.m. Volunteers/Academic Credit: 5:30-7:30 p.m.
Wednesday, September 9th, 4-7:30 p.m.-Thurgood Marshall room in the Stamp
Federal Work Study Employees: 4-7:30p.m. Volunteers/Academic Credit: 5:30-7:30 p.m.
Thursday, September 10th, 4-7:30 p.m. - Pyon Su room in the Stamp

Friday, September 11th, 2-5:30 p.m. - Biology-Psychology Bldg, Room 1238

                        VERY IMPORTANT Note to Federal Work Study Employees:
                        What to bring with you to this session:

  • 2 forms of ID
    • Drivers license and social security card
    • OR a U.S. passport
  • A deposit slip from your checking account (or checkbook)
  • Federal Work Study Authorization form for 2009-2010
  • A copy of your “My Awards” Page from Testudo

             

  • Get Fingerprinted: Choose ONE of the following sessions to visit

Thursday, September 10th, 10 a.m.- 3 p.m. – Thurgood Marshall room in the Stamp
Monday, September 14th, 3-6:30 p.m. -  Juan Ramon Jimenez room in the Stamp
Wednesday, September 16th, 5-8 p.m. – Thurgood Marshall room in the Stamp
What to bring with you to this session: Driver’s License

*Note: you can come anytime during the time block on your chosen day – the actual fingerprinting process only takes 10-20 minutes, depending on how many people are waiting. If you want to speed up the process, you can pick up the fingerprinting paperwork at the ARAC office and fill it out beforehand.

 

  •  Attend Primary Training for America Reads

You must attend one of the Training 1 sessions and one of the Training 2 sessions.
